Appalachian Mountain Late Model Speedweek Greets Fans at “Motorsports 2012”. Welcomes Harbaugh Amusement Machine, Inc. as Series Title Sponsor.

January 26, 2012

The Appalachian Mountain Speedweek is proud to announce a new marketing partnership with Harbaugh Amusement Machine, Incorporated. The Martinsburg, West Virginia Company, specializing in Pool Tables and Juke Boxes along with ATM and Mega Touch machines was announced this weekend as the new title sponsor of the popular Late Model Speedweek Series. Other racing ventures for the Harbaughs, include owning the team of Sophomore Super Late Model racer Duane Harbaugh and a long association with Kentucky’s Steve Francis on a National level.

“It is an honor to be associated with Bob and Diane Harbaugh” said series Co-Promoter Kurt Smith.  “This came together with the help of series sponsor Bill Funk of Sign Design. Bill is a huge supporter of our Speedweek and thought that Harbaugh Amusement might be a good fit with what we were trying to accomplish. Bill was right on target in that assessment, I knew right away after meeting with them that they genuinely are super people and do what they do in late model racing, just for the love of the sport. This speedweek series is completely sponsor driven and without fine people like Bob and Diane we would not be able to offer the point fund and give back to the drivers like we do. As a series we are excited to represent Harbaugh Amusement Machine and their employees throughout speedweek and beyond” stated Smith.

“I think it is important to state that because the majority of the tracks on our 2012 schedule are not in CenturyLink’s territory, they felt and rightly so they should not continue on as the series title sponsor for the 3rd straight year” stated Kurt. “They still want to be involved, just on a smaller level this year. I want to thank CenturyLink and Debbie Keyser for believing in this series and really helping to take it to the next level. I look forward to continuing our relationship in the future” added Smith.

The Appalachian Mountain Speedweek presented by Harbaugh Amusement, kicked off 2012 at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center this past weekend by taking part in “Motorsports 2012”. What turned out to be a snowy weekend in Pennsylvania, did not dampen the spirits of the thousands of people that walked through the crowded aisles of the show. Fans were treated to autographs all show long as 2011Series Champion Austin Hubbard, Big Al Cheney, Tyler Hershey, Booper Bare & Miss Appalachian Mountain Speedweek Danielle Wilson all put in time at the booth throughout the weekend. Fans could also get an up close look at Virginia veteran Booper Bare’s Loco-Motives/RoushYates/MBH late model that was on display in the series booth all weekend.

“It was a great show” said Series Founder J.R. Keifer. “I want to thank all the fans that stopped by the show. It was really great to see how excited the fans are about our speedweek and 2012 schedule. Also, a big thank you to the drivers that took time out of their weekends to sign autographs” added Keifer.

“It was great for the series” said Series Director Jason Clapper. “Not only does a big thank you go to the drivers that worked our booth and interacted with the fans, but also thanks to Booper Bare Racing for towing all the way up from Central Virginia to proudly displaying the car with us. The show really worked out well from a sponsor stand point also as we welcome DMI, Pancho’s Racing Products & VP Race Fuels to our sponsor list this year. These will all be product(s) or certificates that we can give right back to our series competitors” stated Clapper.
